Here is what I know:
- Without marketing (blogging, tweeting, talking to folks on Goodreads, posting giveaways. etc.), book sales will grind…to…a…halt. On the other hand, the payoff for steady communication is steady sales. So, with that in mind, I will be going back to blogging daily and Tweeting regularly. For your Sunday Snippet, an oldie but goodie!
- The first draft of Book 2 is 1000 times harder than Book 1. Not because the ideas aren’t there, but because now I have real, honest-to-goodness readers to disappoint if the story is not as good (or better) than Book 1. Pressure much?
- And last….Kindle Countdown deals ROCK. At .99 cents, Blood Toy sold so well, I seriously considered making it permanently .99 cents despite lower royalties. While I ultimately decided against it, I am temporarily changing pricing to $2.99 to capture those new readers that look for books under $3. Updated pricing will be live soon! Grab yours while it’s on sale!
